Born in Fiji with reggae in his blood, Shem aka Yohann Narain aka Bingi Selassie has been performing live to audiences internationally for over 20 years. His mesmerizing live shows and vibrant performances have left crowds in want of more. The sound is groovy, authentic reggae, with a commercial edge and the songs are a combination of Bob Marley tracks and catchy originals. Shem's passion during live performances is evident even in photos and this combined with his awesome stage presence and showmanship makes for a great show everytime. 

 

 

Shem's musical journey has lead to his greatest achievement when he was invited to spend time in Kingston, Jamaica with members of the original Wailers band of the great Bob Marley - a feat achieved by no other Australian artist to date. The Australian tour which followed the Jamaican recording session, consisted of sold out shows resulting in Shem gaining the status of Australia's leading reggae artist at the time. 

 

 

The Wailers sound, understandably hard to replace, means that Live shows these days are normally performed with the inclusion of sampled drums, bass and additional instruments making the sound heavy - and the smooth harmonies combined with awesome vocals cap off a fantastic live experience not to be missed.

Delivering this reggae to the future generation has lead Shem to join forces with young up and coming Australian reggae guitarist Irie I, to take Shemreggae forward.
